Teeth Whitening in Chembur

Whitening is the simplest cosmetic treatment in dentistry, but the difference between a good result and a patchy one is supervision. In-clinic whitening protects the gums, controls the concentration, and produces an even shade that a tray-at-home kit rarely achieves.

Teeth Whitening in Chembur at The Dental House, Chembur
In short

Professional teeth whitening lightens stained or discoloured teeth safely under a dentist's supervision, more evenly and predictably than any home kit. At The Dental House in Chembur it is done by Dr Niti Shah, with your gums protected and the shade matched to look natural rather than obviously bleached. It is often planned alongside veneers or a makeover. The clinic is open daily, 9am to 9pm, on Shell Colony Road, Chembur East.

Dr Niti matches the whitening to your face and your other teeth rather than going for the brightest possible shade, because teeth that look too white for the person behind them look like dental work, not a natural smile.

Right fit

Who this suits

  • Teeth yellowed by tea, coffee, wine or tobacco
  • General age-related darkening
  • Anyone planning veneers or a makeover where the shade of the untreated teeth matters
  • People who want a visible improvement in a single visit
Straight talk

When we will tell you no

An MDS specialist saying a treatment is wrong for you carries more weight than a clinic that offers only one thing.

  • If the discolouration is intrinsic (tetracycline staining, fluorosis), whitening may not reach it, and veneers may be the honest answer. We will tell you before starting.
  • If you have active decay or gum disease, we treat that first. Whitening on unhealthy teeth causes sensitivity and uneven results.
  • We do not chase an unnaturally bright shade. If you want teeth whiter than what suits your face, we will show you the difference and explain why we recommend stopping where it looks natural.
How it works

Your treatment, step by step

In this order, because each step depends on what the one before it found. The equipment is named because it is real, and it is what makes each step work.

Shade assessment

Dr Niti checks the cause of discolouration and records your starting shade so the improvement is measurable.

Not all staining responds to bleaching. Knowing what you are treating is how you predict the outcome.

Gum protection and application

A protective barrier is placed over the gums, and the whitening agent is applied in controlled cycles.

Protecting the gums is what separates a supervised session from a home kit with a generic tray.

Result and shade match

The final shade is compared to the starting point and matched to your overall appearance.

A natural-looking result that suits the face is worth more than maximum brightness.

Questions

Answered by Dr Niti Shah Nagrath

How white will my teeth get?
It depends on the type and severity of staining. Most patients see several shades of improvement. Dr Niti will give you a realistic expectation at the assessment.
Does whitening damage teeth?
Professional whitening at the concentrations we use does not damage enamel. You may experience mild sensitivity for a day or two, which settles quickly.
How long does the result last?
With good oral hygiene and moderation with staining foods and drinks, results typically last six to twelve months before a top-up is useful.
Can I whiten over veneers or crowns?
Whitening works on natural tooth structure only. If you have restorations, whitening is done first and the restorations are then matched to the new shade.
