At The Dental House, every braces case is planned and adjusted by Dr Hitesh Nagrath, an MDS orthodontist. That matters because the judgement calls during treatment, how much wire pressure to apply, when to change the sequence, whether to add a temporary anchorage device, are orthodontic decisions that a general dentist is not trained to make at the same level.
Braces in Chembur
Braces remain the most versatile orthodontic tool. They handle severe crowding, large bite corrections and complex tooth movements that aligners cannot achieve as predictably, and they work without relying on patient compliance, since they are fixed in place.

Braces straighten teeth and correct bite problems using fixed brackets and wires, and at The Dental House in Chembur they are planned and adjusted by Dr Hitesh Nagrath, who holds an MDS in Orthodontics. Metal, ceramic (tooth-coloured) and lingual (hidden behind the teeth) options are available for children, teens and adults. When a case suits clear aligners better, Dr Hitesh will say so. EMI is available, and the clinic is open every day from 9am to 9pm on Shell Colony Road, Chembur East.
Who this suits
- Children and teens with developing bites that need early intervention
- Adults with severe crowding, rotation or spacing that exceeds what aligners handle predictably
- Overbite, underbite or crossbite correction that needs strong, continuous force
- Cases needing extraction and space closure
- Anyone who prefers a fixed system so compliance is not a factor
When we will tell you no
An MDS specialist saying a treatment is wrong for you carries more weight than a clinic that offers only one thing.
- If your case is mild to moderate and you are an adult who wants a discreet option, Dr Hitesh will suggest clear aligners instead. Braces work, but aligners are often the better experience for simpler cases.
- We do not recommend lingual braces for every case. They suit certain tooth positions and mouth shapes, and Dr Hitesh will tell you honestly whether yours is one of them.
- If your jaw imbalance needs surgery, we will tell you at the start rather than attempting orthodontic camouflage that won't hold.
Your treatment, step by step
In this order, because each step depends on what the one before it found. The equipment is named because it is real, and it is what makes each step work.
Assessment and treatment plan
Dr Hitesh examines your teeth and bite, takes a scan, and plans the bracket positions and wire sequence for your specific case.
3Shape TRIOS 3Every bracket is positioned deliberately. Random placement is why some braces cases drag on far longer than they should.
Bonding your brackets
Brackets are bonded to the teeth and the first wire is placed. The appointment takes about an hour.
3M curing lightThe bond needs to hold for the full treatment. A properly cured bracket stays put through every meal.
Monthly adjustments
Each month Dr Hitesh changes or adjusts the wire, applies elastic forces where needed, and checks that teeth are tracking to plan.
This visit is where the orthodontist earns the result. The wire change is the steering input, and each one is a clinical decision.
Debonding and retainers
Once the teeth are in their planned positions, brackets come off and retainers are fitted to hold the result.
Retainers are part of the plan, not an add-on at the end. Without them, teeth drift back.
